Who we are
Tormey Construction is a custom home builder in the Wood River Valley. We care about quality and craftsmanship, and we work collaboratively with clients, architects and designers from the first estimate to completion.
We take on a few projects at a time so that each one gets our full attention. When you work with us, you work directly with our principals, John and Peter.

Every project starts with a detailed estimate and a clear scope, so you know what to expect before anything is signed.
During construction you can see where the project stands against budget, and changes are documented and priced as they come up. John and Peter are involved from start to finish.
When the house is finished we walk through it with you to make sure you are completely satisfied with the finished product.
John Tormey
President
More than thirty years in construction. Designed and built his first house at twenty-two and has worked every phase of residential building since - concrete, framing, exterior and interior finish - including running a cabinet and furniture shop. Lead carpenter and project manager for several of the valley's premier custom builders before starting Tormey Construction in 1997.
Peter Wysong
Partner and Vice President
Grew up in his family's construction and real estate development business in Traverse City, Michigan. Finance degree from Michigan State, twelve years of investment banking in New York, then moved to Ketchum in 2015. Joined Tormey as a partner in 2017.
